Assalamualaikum...

SUMMARY OF WEEK 8

PROJECT  : PROVISION OF FRONT END ENGINEERING DESIGN (FEED) AND    ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION &  COMMISSIONING (EPCIC) OF SK316 DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.
CLIENT       : PETRONAS CARI GALI SDN BHD.
COMPANY :  ACTUAL BUILDER SDN BHD

(9 March 2015 : Monday)
Today I only attend site meeting Mr. Hafiz at MMHE meeting room. Today they discus about engineering issues.

Engineering Issues:
1.      Plumbing pipes markings – ABSB to propose details 12/03/2015 for approval. Still pending. To get Operation team’s review.
2.      Clashing issue between raised floor pedestals & E&I cable tray at TB - MSR. ABSB need to do room layout marking after complete blasting/painting           activity. Then line walk with E&I to identify location and quantity if bridge is feasible and required.
3.      Structural details for airlocks, staircase and rain hood at Technical Buildings to be confirm by TMJV.
4.      ABSD nee to prepare complete documents for hot water package – details for support/skid. (P&ID, GA, Datasheets)
5.      Reminder on Time Keeping to increase productivity. ABSB need to encourage all workers to be punctual to the working hours especially the down tool time.

(10 March 2015 : Tuesday)
Today, Mr. Hafizi as a safety coordinator asks me to help him doing summary of “U SEE, U ACT”. All I have to do is key in the activities that have stated in the “USEE, U ACT” card into the HSE format. “U SEE, U ACT” card is the hazard identification and correction report. Safety officer have to make sure the entire workers working in the safe condition. Mr. Hafizi also explains to me that this “USEE, U ACT card” must be fill in by worker. Every Thursday morning during general tool box meeting, MMHE will announce the winner of “U SEE, U ACT” and give the KFC voucher to the winner. This can give an encourage to the worker for work in safety workplace and always aware of the risk and hazard.

(11 March 2015: Wednesday)
Today I have follow Mr. Hafiz and Mr. Azuan enter to the site to see the problem of installation of raise floor at WHP.

Picture 2 shows the raised floor cannot be install because the wire is not securely installed and the raised floor was cover by cardboard to protect from being damaged.

Picture 3 shows the panel lifter is used to move the raised floor. At the site they called this tool is floor puller.

Picture 4 shows the raised floor were move by using panel lifter.

The problem of this raised floor is they cannot get the right level of the floor. This is because there are parts that have gaps between the panels. This is can causes significant damage to equipment. Mr. Azuan told me, during the installation, worker need to pay attention to the condition of the subfloor which should be clean of debris and level as possible. The walls surrounding the raised floor should be as square as possible. This is to minimize for cutting raised floor panels and to minimize rocking panels and gaps.

(12 March 2015 : Thursday)
Today I enter to the site with Mr. Hafiz to check the insulation at CPP Technical buildings. We have to check the thickness of the insulation that they have installed. Before wall panel were installed, the insulation need to be in good condition and follow the requirement of client need.

Picture 5 shows the pipe that will install at CPP Technical Buildings and the room that have done installed by insulation at Instrument equipment room.

Picture 6 shows the insulation at mechanical store. The thickness of this insulation was 90mm.

(13 March 2015 : Friday)
Today was the days of Jacket to sail away. Mr. Hafiz and I enter to the top of the CPP Technical buildings to see Jacket get move into the barge. What can I see is to move the Jacket into the barge, there have a lot of procedure they need to follow especially safety requirement. This is to make sure the Jacket was secure at the barge and accident cannot be happen. When accident happen, the Jacket will not be sail away and can cause trouble to many company that involve in this matters.

Picture 9 shows the Jacket have moved into the barge.

Picture 10 shows the Jacket ready to sail away and the steel structure that could not be done at onshore. This steel structure need to be installed at offshore.

Picture 11 shows they move the steel structure using crawler crane from the onshore into the barge. This steel structure will seal way together with Jacket.

Today, after attended weekly meeting, I follow Mr. Hafiz to check installation of insulation at CPP Technical Building. That was the first time I enters to the CPP Technical Building. I was so excited when enter to the building. What can I see that a lot of column have a big size and made from the steel.  Each column has their own calculation at the surface of the column. Besides that, I also can see the painting process. Before I can enter to the room that do the painting works, I need to make sure I'm wearing complete PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for example, mask, goggle, ear plug and glove for safety requirements. This is to make sure I have safe from any hazard and risk that can causes injury.

(6 March 2015 : Friday)
Jacket will sail away within 4 or 5 days from now. Today they start to move the jacket using buggy to the foreshore. Buggy is one of the transportation that they use to move the jacket.  Buggy has a lot of tire and can lift the high weight. Usually buggy was controlled by operator by using remote; it’s easy to move the jacket that has 100 tons of weight. It has more than 10 tires to support and move the Jacket into the barge.
